what is le chéile collective?

/Le Kay-La/ meaning ‘togetherness’

about us

founders / best friends

Not long ago, the universe finally aligned to bring the two of us together in this lifetime. (took her long enough) We are confident this isn’t the first time this has happened. Definitely in 18th century Ireland where we roamed the green hills alongside our ancestors and probably again in the beatnik 1970s. In this life, we became instant best friends while working at a coffee shop and bonded over our shared passion for coffee culture, healing, and the pursuit of togetherness.

We quickly learned that even our wildest dreams are similar and were too big for the space we were in. So, a seed was planted. We decided to create a third space where everyone is welcome, the hospitality is second to none, and we give back to the community we exist within. In the beginning, this looked like a one-off supper club but after divine intervention, we learned just how determined we are to see this mission through.

Our idea morphed into something bigger than just the two of us- a collective of like minded souls, eager to explore joy as an act of resistance by through cultivating community, nourishing ourselves & our neighbors by empowering them to chase their own destiny.

Ava

Ava Dirr is a woman who wears many hats—Creative Director, beverage alchemist, and visionary, just to name a few. As co-founder of Le Chéile Collective and Love Child, she aims to create spaces that feel like home through intention, artistry and an unapologetic sense of self. Her love for specialty beverages runs deep, rooted in years of hands-on experience, always bringing vibrancy and care to the menus she helps dream into being.

Ava’s passion for building expressive, inclusive spaces comes from a lifelong feeling of never quite fitting in. That sense of otherness became her compass, guiding her to create the kind of space she needed—a space where people are free to show up fully, be seen, and feel celebrated just as they are. Her work is a weaving of hospitality, design, and deep empathy, always aiming to dissolve the lines that divide and create room for what truly matters.

Outside the café, Ava is a devoted mother, artist, dancer, vintage curator, and advocate for creative and collective liberation. She’s rooted in nourishment, belonging, and connection—and is endlessly inspired by the messy, magical beauty of being human.

Food has always been at the center of who Kaylin is—from early memories cooking alongside the matriarchs in her family, to co-founding this togetherness movement with deep care and conviction. For her, cooking is a reclamation of joy, heritage, and power—a space where nourishment goes beyond the plate. She brings that same sentiment to everything she creates, making life feel both delicious and alive.

As a chef, self-proclaimed coffee snob, and co-founder of Le Chéile Collective & Love Child, Kaylin’s work is a form of resistance—bold, expressive, and rooted in care. After seeing the industry’s harmful systems up close, she chose to build something different: a space grounded in solidarity and a deep belief that joy and justice are inseparable. She’s not interested in surface-level hospitality; she’s here for the kind that holds people up and brings them in.

Driven by pushing the limits of expectations, sisterhood and a surplus of ambition, Kaylin leads with intention and heart. Her work honors her inner child—the one who always made life a little more funny, a little more colorful—and it invites others to do the same. Whether she’s hosting, storytelling, or dreaming up the next big thing, she’s guided by one truth: joy is serious work—and it’s meant to be shared together.
